Used Coffee Grounds – what should I do with them?

Personally, I keep the espresso pucks to one side and when they have dried out, crumble them around the house plants.

There are two benefits to this; firstly the plants thrive on it and secondly, pests such as snails and slugs cannot stand the coffee!  One thing to be aware of is that some coffees have high acidity and may raise the levels in the soil.  Counter this by crumbling the coffee and rinsing it with water before mixing it into the soil or compost.  If, for some strange reason you have coffee left over (I know this should never happen) you can pour this into your plant pot rather than down the sink!

I hope that this helpful gem is useful and aids your recycling regime.
